Posset Singers is a friendly community choir based in Portishead, run by the members, for the benefit of the members.  It aims to be inclusive and welcoming to people from 16 years upwards (though 16 and 17 year olds must be accompanied by an adult) whatever their musical ability.  Music is provided, but reading music is not a requirement, many of our members do not read music.  We learn by ear and auditions do not take place.  We are a four part a capella choir and the music sung includes of rock, pop, soul, folk, musical theatre, film music and festive music in the autumn term.  A main objective of the choir is to perform in public at appropriate events.  Whilst making music together is the founding principle, the choir aims to do so in a manner that promotes friendship and togetherness, to this end regular social events are another important feature of the choir.  We also regularly fund raise for our nominated charity Portishead Christmas Lights .

Unfortunately we are unable to accept any more new members this term.

Unless you are a male or female tenor (tenors are still welcome to just come along to any rehearsal), or a previous Posset Singer, who has left and now wants to rejoin (once a Posset always a Posset). 

We have now reached the space limit of our current rehearsal venue and so we are introducing a waiting list for everyone except tenors.  If you do wish to join us, please email us at possetsingers@gmail.com and we will add you to our wait list.  It would be helpful, but not mandatory, if you are able to tell us which part you sing.  If we have any places available at the start of a new term we will contact you on a first come first served basis.
